Senator Jimmy Holley was born in Coffee County, Alabama, on July 30, 1944. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in political science and his Master’s Degree in school administration from East Tennessee State University. Senator Holley honorably served our country in the Alabama National Guard. He is married to the former Mary Harmon of Greeneville, Tennessee. The senator and his wife are both retired teachers. They are the parents of two married sons: John, and wife, Nicole, and Jason, and wife, Julie. They are also the proud grandparents of two remarkable grandsons: Dylan and Cooper. Senator Holley is a member of the College Avenue Church of Christ in Enterprise.
After serving five terms in the Alabama House of Representatives, Senator Holley is currently serving his sixth term for Alabama’s Senate District 31. Senator Holley considers it a privilege to serve more than 40 years in the Alabama legislature. Senator Holley is chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee. He is the president of Legislative Council and serves on the Leadership Committee. Senator Holley serves on the Rules Committee, Finance and Taxation General Fund Committee, Veteran’s and Military Affairs Committee, and the Youth and Human Services Committee.
